After eight years as a Broadway director and producer, Erick Herrscher returned to Salt Lake City in hopes of doing something more meaningful. “There are other things in the world to be done, and better ways to utilize my time and abilities, other than just entertaining people,” he says of his move to the West. Erick found inspiration in friend and Girls Ed board member Rai Farelly’s work, and so decided to join the team himself.
Erick says he jumped at the chance to participate in Girls Ed’s mission to help underserved girls. ”I want to use my abilities to help the greater world,” he says. “I really want to see the girls we fund become the first in their families to get an education, and I can’t wait to watch them create a real impact.”
Erick combines his unique and diverse talents from his experience on Broadway and his current job as a Grants and Contracts Officer for the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and bring them to the Girls Ed board. He will use these many abilities to oversee finances and help our organization grow.
Erick earned his Bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Utah before moving to New York City. H is planning on returning to school for his MBA in the near future.
Broadway’s loss is certainly our gain. Welcome aboard Erick!
