Project Wezesha Education Tanzania Rai Farelly

The Board of Directors unanimously voted to expand our presence in Africa with a new project in Tanzania.

For several years, Board member Rai Farrelly has worked with the village of Mgaraganza in Western Tanzania to build Amahoro Secondary School. Through Rai’s Project Wezesha, she provides scholarships for students hoping to attend regional secondary schools.

Girls Ed has served as the fiscal agent for Project Wezesha, and decided in March, 2012 to formalize the relationship between the two organizations. In July of 2013, students will be vetted through Project Wezesha’s application process and GEI will sponsor these secondary school students for the upcoming academic year. Stay tuned for details on this exciting development!
