Building Bridges to Higher Education IN Tanzania

Around 120 thousand girls in Tanzania drop out of school every year due to economic and social challenges.
— World Bank

In Tanzania, only 27% of girls complete upper secondary school because of financial and social barriers. For girls facing severe economic challenges, upper secondary completion falls to 6%. We believe we can improve these odds, and keep girls in school and learning by working together with local institutions. That’s why Girls Education International is partnering with Project Wezesha, a local NGO, to ensure that young women in Tanzania have the education, support, and skills necessary to carve out a future that they can be proud of.

In this program, we support young women in their pursuit of education by covering the fees associated with their high school education and providing scholarships to those seeking university and vocational training.

The region we serve encompasses thousands of individuals living close to Kigoma, TZ.
