GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a global movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
This year, GivingTuesday falls on December 1, and we're inviting you to join the movement for girls in Tanzania and Pakistan.
Whether you give your time, a monetary donation, or the power of your voice in your local community, you become part of something bigger than a single day. You become part of a community that believes in what girls can do when they have the chance to learn.
Every girl deserves the freedom to learn, to grow, to make her own choices, and to define her own future.
Meet the girls your generosity supports
Tanzania 🇹🇿
Joyce’s dream is to become a math teacher. She hopes to encourage students who struggle with Mathematics like she did and help them understand that academic challenges can be overcome through commitment, proper guidance, and perseverance.
Pakistan 🇵🇰
Eman advocated for herself to continue her education past 10th grade despite her family’s financial constraints. Read Eman’s story here.
Manahil learned her uncle and father were planning her marriage, so she enlisted the help of her Bedari representative (Girls Ed’s partner organization in Pakistan) and together they reminded her father that it is against the law to marry before age 18 and that her school expenses were covered. Read Manahil’s story here.
Three ways to join the movement
There are many ways to participate in the run-up to GivingTuesday, and every one of them matters.
Give your time. Volunteer or help organize a fundraiser in your community.
Give a gift. Every donation helps a girl turn her educational dreams into reality.
Give your voice. Share our story with your friends, family, and local community. Awareness is one of the most powerful gifts you can give.
Amplify your gift with employer matching
There's one more way to make your donation go further. Matching gift programs let employers match, double, or even triple their employees' donations, and it's often as simple as filling out a form while your employer does the rest.
Year-end giving also helps employers lower their taxable income and boost public goodwill before the fiscal year closes, so many companies are especially eager to participate now.

Be part of her story
This GivingTuesday on December 1st, we hope you'll join us. Give what you can, share what you know, and help girls in two countries reach their educational goals.
